Hi Kathy, Thanks for posting. You will be joined soon by Dr. Fant's student in 530 and her 515 students. As an Informatic student you should look for opportunities to attend conferences. The student rates are cheap. The HIMMS conference is a good one to go to. I will post a link to this. This is an opportunity to connect, job hunt and learn. MAT

  3. I loved the stick figure, the second video looked painful! I loved the guy hiding in the closet when his friend heard the gunshots.

  6. DQ 2. According to the AMIA website, two informatics associations have struck a partnership to increase how information can be brought to people in healthcare. This includes new policies and education. This information will strive to increase how the field of informatics and technology will improve research, healthcare and allow for information to be accessed worldwide. "Dr. Geissbuhler observed achieving these goals requires intensified international collaboration as well as development and strengthening of local and regional centers of excellence in health informatics so that they are able to support local projects while being connected globally", (Light, 2010, p 2).

  7. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (2011). identified factors to determine if a website is reputable. They stated that identifying who funds the site, what the purpose of the site is, who chooses the content and decides what to include on the site as valuable information for selecting a site. The site I selected, The SIRC, is supported by a team of nurse educators and medical professionals. Laerdal is also associated with site which is a company who develops and sells simulation products. Funds are collected via the courses offered to further education on the use of the current technology that is offered.
